KOF - what is that?

The Kullabygden Ornithological Society (KOF) is the local club for birdwatchers, active in north west Scania, southwest Sweden.

KOF ...

  • founded in 1970, is a non-profit organisation open to everybody interested in birds,
  • aims at conservation and research of the bird fauna in northwest Scania. Bird population censuses, studies on bird migration and bird ringing is on the program,
  • organises field trips, excursions and indoor meetings to stimulate the intrest in birds among members and the general public,
  • during the winter we feed small birds in a number of locations,
  • the association is responsible for contact against the peregrine falcon project, and we actively monitor the peregrine falcon pair that nest in our business.

Individual membership subscription for the year 2011 is SEK 125 (family member SEK 10). Payments to the Swedish postal giro account 2 24 39 - 4. When paying from abroud, please add an extra SEK 50 to cover exchange charges.

We have a small house at Norra Häljaröd, close to the nature reserve Rönnen.
